Q: Questioni have a GE JVM140J001 SPACEMAKER MANUFACTURED IN 1990. LOOKS LIKE YOUR NEW MODEL JNM3163DJWW IS 1" higher and 2' deeper. I have not found a better fit. Will this slightly larger one go in w/o modification and do you think it will look overly awkward?

• A:Answer Adjustment will be needed with the height but it was only about 1/2 inch higher and wider!! The depth is about 2 inches deeper but is really not noticeable. It is a great microwave and looks great - cleaner lines!!

• A:Answer Hi Ted, thanks for reaching out! This product requires a three-prong grounded outlet. Product rating is 120 volts AC, 60 Hertz, 15 amps, and 1.70 kilowatts. This product must be connected to a supply circuit of the proper voltage and frequency. Wire size must conform to the requirements of the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code for this kilowatt rating. The power supply cord and plug should be brought to a separate 15 to 20 ampere branch circuit single grounded outlet. The outlet box should be located in the cabinet above the microwave oven and away from any potential microwave ducting. The outlet box and supply circuit should be installed by a qualified electrician and conform to the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code. We hope that this helps! • A:Answer Hi Barneybaby! Thanks for reaching out! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy! - NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. - You can view a nice replacement for your model by searching for this model: JVM6172DKBB. If you don't like the model we suggested, you can also search for similar models: JVM3160DFBB, JVM6175DKBB, PVM9179DKBB. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael

Q: QuestionWe just had our microwave installed, but when turning the exhaust fan off, it's really loud and sounds like it doesn't want to stop, Like it is hitting something as it stops. We haven't cooked anything, this is just testing the buttons. Is this normal?

A fan where the internal components are located will run continuously while the microwave is in operation to constantly circulate the air and cool the working parts. It is normal for the internal fan for the electronics to continue to run for a few seconds after the microwave cycle is complete, even if the door is opened. This fan does not circulate air in the cavity. That being said, if it sounds like the exhaust fan is hitting something this is not a normal sound that we would expect from our microwaves. Q: QuestionCan we buy a microwave over the oven in white? We have a GE microwave that converts to an oven which is broken. We would be happy with a plain microwave if it would fit over the oven as our old microwave does. Our current microwave is 26 Inches wide.
