Q: QuestionI currently have the pvm1970sr1ss. Is the JVM3160RFSS a good replacement and will I be able to use the brackets I currently have installed?

• A:Answer This is what I did and I suggest that you do the same. I called GE customer service and gave them the model number of my existing microwave and asked them what microwave I can replace it. It should be the same measurements. The installation may not be same just like mine because you have to remove the old brackets . Believe me I did it all by myself.

• A:Answer no, the venting is top, back or front, i have it to the front, which is on top and in front of the microwave you can switch the fan direction to blow out the top front

• A:Answer I'd have to say there's a good chance of that, especially if it's the same model year as the one you have. But if not, the mounting bracket isn't a deal breaker because they are very easy to swap out.

Q: Questioni have a GE JVM140J001 SPACEMAKER MANUFACTURED IN 1990. LOOKS LIKE YOUR NEW MODEL JNM3163DJWW IS 1" higher and 2' deeper. I have not found a better fit. Will this slightly larger one go in w/o modification and do you think it will look overly awkward?

• A:Answer Adjustment will be needed with the height but it was only about 1/2 inch higher and wider!! The depth is about 2 inches deeper but is really not noticeable. It is a great microwave and looks great - cleaner lines!!

• A:Answer Hi Ted, thanks for reaching out! This product requires a three-prong grounded outlet. Product rating is 120 volts AC, 60 Hertz, 15 amps, and 1.70 kilowatts. This product must be connected to a supply circuit of the proper voltage and frequency. Wire size must conform to the requirements of the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code for this kilowatt rating. The power supply cord and plug should be brought to a separate 15 to 20 ampere branch circuit single grounded outlet. The outlet box should be located in the cabinet above the microwave oven and away from any potential microwave ducting. The outlet box and supply circuit should be installed by a qualified electrician and conform to the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code. We hope that this helps! Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy! - NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. - You can view a nice replacement for your model by searching for this model: JVM6172DKBB.
