Q: QuestionJust curious if they sell some type of extender for the front of the microwave that can kind of scoop the smoke. I hate cooking on the front burners (closer to you) because the vent can't capture all the steam/smoke because of the way the unit is set in
Asked by Joe908.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave with Convenience Cooking Controls - White
- A:Answer Hi Joe908- Thanks for your purchase! We do not offer any options for the exhaust feature. The over-the-range microwave vent system should properly remove most heat, steam, and smoke from the cooktop. If boiling or simmering for long periods of time on the front burners, the vent will not always be capable of capturing all of the excess steam. It may be necessary to use the back burners in this case. Also, these models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. Mounting any higher can affect venting. Thanks for checking with us! SUEatGEA

Q: QuestionHi. I want to replace my old model microwave GE JVM1451WA001. Which model is the closest matching?
Asked by Kamila.
- A:Answer Hi Kamila- We certainly appreciate your loyalty! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening so you can choose any model. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. We suggest our GE® 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven with Recirculating Venting JNM7196SKSS-Stainless Steel (JNM7196DKWW White). The microwave is factory-assembled for indoor venting (recirculating- non-vent). It also features sensor cooking controls similar to your current model and our new easy-clean, dark gray enamel interior with steam clean. The Steam Clean feature (found on select microwave models) generates steam to re-hydrate dried spills/splatters making cleaning easier. We hope this is helpful! SUEatGEA
