- Answer You really want it to vent outside. The vent works for the stove too. But I’m sure they can do what you need.

QuestionI noticed that this model has 2 fan speeds but it says the fan automatically turns on and off. So when the fan turns on, it can turn on in low speed or high speed depending on how hot the stovetop is?

QuestionOld Microwave is GE Model JVM3160DF3ww. Will this model match up with current installation holes (in cabinet above microwave)?. Does it use same mounting bracket?

- Answer The answer from GE answers is incorrect. I just installed this today and the mounting holes from the cabinet above are different. The left one is at least 3 inches different compared to the JVM3160DF3WW that you would have. The mounting bracket did still work for me though.

- Answer Hello - We appreciate your interest and we are happy to help! Although we no longer make your model, we do have a variety of great new models available. We normally do not suggest an exact replacement because all of our 30" Spacemaker over-the-range microwaves are designed to be installed in the same standard upper cabinet space (30" min. width, 12" min.-13" max. depth, 66” min mounting height). Any of our new models will work in your current space. While you can choose any model as a replacement, the most comparable model is JVM3160DFWW. Thanks for checking. We appreciate your loyalty! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are designed to fit in the same space. For features, they are very similar. Model JVM3160RFSS will have slightly more wattage and a 1" larger turntable. - Answer U need to measure the available space dimensions such as length, height, and depth. The GE microwave I have is like this: Length : 30 inches Height : 15.5 inches Depth : 15 inches Match the space and then choose the model accordingly.

All our over-the-range microwaves are designed to fit into a 30" cabinet opening. This makes choosing a replacement a breeze. Please note however, that you will need to use the mounting kit that comes with the model. This is because the kit is made specifically for that model. One such model is JNM7196SKSS. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. The mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model.
