Q: Question2 yrs ago I purchased GE Model# JVM3160RF4SS and it recently tripped the dedicated circuit breaker when attempting to heat. The fan, light, clock, etc. work without tripping the breaker. Found several ratings with same problem. What is common failure?

We are sorry to hear it trips the breaker when attempting to heat only and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Be certain the microwave is on its own dedicated circuit. We suggest to reset the breaker and try the microwave one more time. If the breaker trips off again, we recommend to unplug the microwave and schedule service. Q: QuestionI have read some reviews that say the handle breaks off after only a short while. I've also read some that say there are cracks and peeling. Is this a quality control issue which has been resolved? I just bought this model today and now I'm concerned.

Q: QuestionI can only do recirculating. My above cabinets are just under 13" depth. I am concerned that the finish of the cabinets will be worn by the air flow of the air circulation . What is clearance/location of the fan of the recirculating for the microwave?

• A:Answer Hi JonS - The vent is located above the door. The microwave can be installed in a 12" min. - 13" deep cabinet. The microwave is 15 1/4" and will extend past the upper cabinet. The small amount of airflow should not affect cabinets. The charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to 12 months, depending on usage). While the model does not have a specific Vegetable touch pad, you can certainly cook frozen and fresh vegetables in any of our microwaves using Cook Time. Q: QuestionMy old GE microwave, JVM1630WB004 with OUTSIDE BACK EXHAUST (Horizontal Duct) stops working and I bought a JVM3169RFSS to replace it. Is it a good fit for the existing one especially installation and functionality? Thanks!

Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. Also, The microwave oven is designed for adaptation for the following three types of ventilation: 1. Q: QuestionI just had a GE microwave installed today. It is black but not the stainless black. I used a paper towel and windex to wipe the outside with and it scratched the panel and the outside of the microwave. How do I get rid of the scratches?

These letters/numbers are used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance. • A:Answer Hello joann - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. We are sorry to learn of your microwave. In the event of a hole in the microwave’s cavity wall, the damage is non-repairable and you should discontinue use of the product. It is also recommended that the microwave be replaced if arcing continues to occur. Minor chips to the coating on the microwave's interior cavity will not affect the product's performance. If the coating is actively flaking or peeling anywhere inside the oven cavity (including under the turntable) discontinue the use of the microwave and replace it. The microwave is not repairable. The cavity coating in GE microwaves is selected to be safely used as a food-contact surface and meets GE’s and applicable government requirements for such use. No lead or other toxic materials are added to the cavity coating material used in GE microwave ovens. The inadvertent ingestion of small amounts of peeling coating does not create a health risk.
