“I want to replace the existing GE microwave (JVM1540) with this GE microwave which is similar. The installation offer comes in two options: one standard and second with “replacement of range hood”. Do I need to replace range hood while replacing?”

• This is what I did and I suggest that you do the same. I called GE customer service and gave them the model number of my existing microwave and asked them what microwave I can replace it. It should be the same measurements. The installation may not be same just like mine because you have to remove the old brackets . Believe me I did it all by myself.
