“I can only do recirculating. My above cabinets are just under 13" depth. I am concerned that the finish of the cabinets will be worn by the air flow of the air circulation . What is clearance/location of the fan of the recirculating for the microwave?”

Hi JonS - The vent is located above the door. The microwave can be installed in a 12" min. - 13" deep cabinet. The microwave is 15 1/4" and will extend past the upper cabinet. The small amount of airflow should not affect cabinets. The charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to 12 months, depending on usage).
