I replaced an older model GE microwave with the JVM3160DFW model. I did have to remove the old wall mounting bracket and replace it with the one that came with the new unit. I have looked at the parts manual for the JVM316ODF2WW model and the wall mounting bracket appears to be the same as is used with the JVM3160DFW. It would appear that the JVM3160DFW can be a direct replacement for the JVM316ODF2WW.

When the model is manufactured, these extra letters/numbers are placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. These letters/numbers are used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance. We hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have any additional questions in the future. Thank you! Joyce@GEA

I would just measure your spot and take a picture of all all information located inside the micro wave door with model numbers and show your sells person at Best Buy. Good luck!
