Hello Angel, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your over the range microwave. We are sorry to hear you are experiencing a loud sound and know this must be frustrating. A fan where the internal components are located will run continuously while the microwave is in operation to constantly circulate the air and cool the working parts. It is normal for the internal fan for the electronics to continue to run for a few seconds after the microwave cycle is complete, even if the door is opened. This fan does not circulate air in the cavity. That being said, if it sounds like the exhaust fan is hitting something this is not a normal sound that we would expect from our microwaves. We would suggest scheduling a service appointment. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737, Mon-Fri 7 am – 10 pm ET, Sat-Sun 8 am – 6 pm ET or schedule online anytime at: http://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm Please feel free to reach out to us over email or social media if you have any further questions. Best wishes - Avery
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it sounds extremely loud, and especially if it sounds like it is hitting something, this is not normal. Exhaust fans are normally a little loud, but hitting and strange sounds coming from it is definitely not normal.
