A:AnswerHello. This will require a service call to properly diagnose what the internal electrical issue. You can call 1-800-432-2737. We do not actually diagnose an electrical issue. If the microwave trips the house fuse or breaker:
Be certain the microwave is on its own dedicated circuit.
Reset the breaker or replace the household fuse and try the microwave one more time.
If the breaker trips off again, unplug the microwave and contact service. Hope this helps. Geoff@GEA

A:AnswerI replaced an older model GE microwave with the JVM3160DFW model. I did have to remove the old wall mounting bracket and replace it with the one that came with the new unit. I have looked at the parts manual for the JVM316ODF2WW model and the wall mounting bracket appears to be the same as is used with the JVM3160DFW. It would appear that the JVM3160DFW can be a direct replacement for the JVM316ODF2WW.
A:AnswerHello- We appreciate your loyalty to our GE Appliances brand. This new model will fit in your space. The newer model is slightly smaller, but it will still work in your cutout. ~It is also important to know that you will need to use the mounting brackets and hardware that come with the new microwave. The mounting kits have changed over the years and are not interchangeable. Current models are installed with the use of a mounting plate. We hope this helps! Joyce@GEA
A:AnswerHello and thanks so much for the interest in this excellent microwave. We're glad to hear you have been part of the GEA family for many years. Due to the age of you current microwave, finding a model that will line up precisely to vent location and drill holes is difficult. However, this model is extremely close and would be a great fit. We recommend checking out the installation templates for cutout locations. Thanks. - John@GEAppliances
A:AnswerHello, and thanks for your interest in this over-the-range model! We certainly understand needing to replace a similar unit and are happy to help. We can advise all 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width and designed to fit a 30" wide cabinet opening. As a result, any of our 30" models will work great as a replacement for a former model of that width. Both these units have an exact width of 29 7/8". The full dimensions of the JVM3160RFSS are 16 1/8 H x 29 7/8 W x 15 9/16 D. As long as the other dimensions work for you, we are confident this unit would be a great fit for your needs! Please note that the mounting bracket that comes with a new microwave should be used rather than an old one; unlike the width, the brackets are specific to each model and not interchangeable. We are happy to help if you have any further concerns. All the best! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerHi there, and thanks for reaching out to us! We appreciate your interest in this over-the-range microwave, and can advise the unit does come equipped with a power cord with a three-prong (grounding) plug and should be plugged into a standard three-prong (grounding) wall receptacle. It must be grounded to reduce risk of electric shock. We hope this information is helpful, and are happy to help with any other questions or concerns. All the best! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerHi there, thanks for reaching out to us. To install this, you'll need to use the specific mounting bracket this is delivered with. We hope that helps and we're wishing you the best! - Guy@GEA

This makes choosing a new microwave easy, and this unit would make a great replacement! Please note the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. We hope this information is helpful for you! A:AnswerYes, exact same thing happened on my unit. Outlet/Switch were confirmed not to be the issues. Seems like a lot of these die within the first few years and the recommendation is to buy a new one vs. servicing the existing problem. I am extremely hesitant to try again based on the comments here - will need to find one that fits the same area.
A:AnswerHi there - Thanks for reaching out about this, we've got you covered! The handle has the appearance of stainless steel and we believe that it complements the microwave nicely. We suggest checking with your local Best Buy to see if they have it on display. All the best! -Mikayla@GEA
A:AnswerYou have to push a button to turn the vent fan on.
The vent fan is normal to me, meaning you can really hear it at the high speed. The lower speed is quieter.
I am happy with the micro. It warms things quickly. That is important to me..
