A:AnswerMine is installed 23" above the stove top. The microwave works without a venting trim kit, however it has a fan/ventilation system built into it to help remove steam and cooking vapors from the stove top in the same way a hood/fan ventilation system does. Hope that helps. I would check about heat from the microwave itself, if it's a tight fit into the cabinets surrounding it.

You will need to rotate the blower based on the type of venting (outdoors/or recirculating indoors). You should feel very little air from the vent when vented to the outside.
