• Hi mkamalich - Yes, to clean the grease filter, soak and then swish it around in hot water and detergent. Rinse, shake and let it dry before replacing. If the microwave is converted to recirculating and not vented to the outside, the air will be recirculated through a disposable charcoal filter (JX81J included) that helps remove smoke and odors. The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned. It must be replaced every 6 months or when the filter replacement LED is on. You'll love your choice.
