- Answer I understand your question as a programmable surface light ( light facing range below) to turn on/off - the answer is no. The light turns on/off by manually pressing the surface light button, there are multiple, I think 3, brightnesses.

- Answer Hi Eric - We suggest GE - 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Model JNM7196SKSS. This model is assembled at the factory for recirculating (non-vent) similar to your current model JNM1541SN1SS. Model JVM7195SKSS is the same except assembled at the factory for outside venting. QuestionI just purchased this model and find the interior lighting very dim and almost impossible to see anything thru the door. Is there a way to replace the incandescent cavity light with a halogen? My old GM microwave (jvm7195sf1ss) had halogen in the interior

Changing the interior bulb would be considered modification and we do not recommend changes or redesign to our appliances by the consumer on a new product. Each brand of our products is designed, tested and manufactured to specific specifications. Additionally, the interior bulb is not consumer replaceable. -Chris

QuestionHow can you say it will blow out vents at top of door when there are no vents. Your service is unacceptable in getting someone out to fix this and the stove installation - over 3 weeks for a new service call on new appliances. You need to fix service.

- Answer Hi Yotel - The microwave oven is designed for adaptation for the following three types of ventilation: 1. Outside Exhaust (Vertical – Delivered from factory in vertical position). 2. Outside Exhaust (Horizontal). 3. Recirculating (Non-vented ductless). If the model is converted to recirculating and not vented to the outside, the air will be recirculated through a disposable charcoal filter (included) that helps remove smoke and odors. You will feel airflow from vents located on top just above the door. If your cabinets are deeper than 13", you may not be able to see the vents. QuestionI just installed this microwave with the fan box open on the topside to vent out side. I noticed that when I turn the fan on there is air blowing back inside from a vent at the top, front side of the microwave. Is this normal?

- Answer Hi Matt- Thanks for choosing GE! It is normal to have some air blowing out of the top grill. QuestionThe display screen on my JVM7195SF1SS goes blank about 1 minute after each use. It will "wake up" if I open the door or press a control panel button. It used to always be on. Any ideas? Could it be my two year old roommate who loves to push buttons?

- Answer Hi Castle- Thanks for choosing GE! All over-the-range microwaves are equipped with an exhaust system. It can be installed under a cabinet, even if there is not a cooking surface underneath; however, the height clearances must still be met. Over-the- range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. - Answer Hi Anna62- Use the Settings option to change sound level. Press Settings, press Express Cook pad 3, Select sound level: 0- Mute, 1- Low, 2- Normal; 3- loud. - Answer Double check the size of the microwave oven from the spec versus the dimension from the old oven. IF the old oven is 30" wide, the existing space should fit. I use the old frame from the retired frigidaire oven to hang the new GE Oven without drilling any new holes to the wall. However, I have to make a minor adjustment on the top supporting screws. Depend upon what kind of vent you have. The new GE has the fan to vent the air either inside (recirculating) of outside the house. The fan can be adjusted either blow vertical (if the vent pipe is on the top), or horizontal (if the vent pipe is behind the oven thru the wall). Hope this help.

QuestionI am replacing a microwave that is 29.75" wide, which is the measurement of this microwave. It fits perfectly in my space. Most microwaves seem to be 29.87" wide, which would be too wide. Am I going to be OK with this microwave?
