Hi there, we appreciate you reaching out to us. Yes, the charcoal filter for this microwave (WB02X10956) can be purchased on our parts website or at a GE Appliances dealer. In addition, the charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored. Lastly, the fan is designed to help protect the electronic components and help the cooking area get rid of excess heat, but it's not specifically manufactured to purify cooking odors.
