QuestionDoes this model have a zero clearance door? Several GE microwaves come up in the search for zero clearance microwaves but are not true zero clearance door models.

- Answer It is not quite a true zero door but very close. Maybe a half inch over the side.

When the model is manufactured, the extra number is placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card only. This number is used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, this is used as an identifier for the specific microwave. Models with an upfront filter have a Reset Filter notification light on the control panel to indicate when it is time to change the filter. The Reset Filter reminder will light every 6 months. After changing the filter, press and hold Reset Filter to reset. - Answer I understand your question as a programmable surface light ( light facing range below) to turn on/off - the answer is no. The light turns on/off by manually pressing the surface light button, there are multiple, I think 3, brightnesses.

- Answer Hi Eric - We suggest GE - 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Model JNM7196SKSS. This model is assembled at the factory for recirculating (non-vent) similar to your current model JNM1541SN1SS. Model JVM7195SKSS is the same except assembled at the factory for outside venting. QuestionI just purchased this model and find the interior lighting very dim and almost impossible to see anything thru the door. Is there a way to replace the incandescent cavity light with a halogen? My old GM microwave (jvm7195sf1ss) had halogen in the interior

Changing the interior bulb would be considered modification and we do not recommend changes or redesign to our appliances by the consumer on a new product. QuestionHow can you say it will blow out vents at top of door when there are no vents. Your service is unacceptable in getting someone out to fix this and the stove installation - over 3 weeks for a new service call on new appliances. You need to fix service.

- Answer Hi Yotel - The microwave oven is designed for adaptation for the following three types of ventilation: 1. Outside Exhaust (Vertical – Delivered from factory in vertical position). 2. Outside Exhaust (Horizontal). 3. Recirculating (Non-vented ductless). If the model is converted to recirculating and not vented to the outside, the air will be recirculated through a disposable charcoal filter (included) that helps remove smoke and odors. You will feel airflow from vents located on top just above the door. If your cabinets are deeper than 13", you may not be able to see the vents. QuestionI just installed this microwave with the fan box open on the topside to vent out side. I noticed that when I turn the fan on there is air blowing back inside from a vent at the top, front side of the microwave. Is this normal?

- Answer Hi Castle- Thanks for choosing GE! All over-the-range microwaves are equipped with an exhaust system. It can be installed under a cabinet, even if there is not a cooking surface underneath; however, the height clearances must still be met. Over-the- range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to.
