Hi Donna - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE Microwave Model # JVM7195EKES. We are sorry to hear of the error when trying to heat water for your tea. This is frustrating, we know. The Beverage function on this model is sensor-controlled. The microwave will detect the serving size and adjust the heating time accordingly. To use the Beverage feature, simply press the Beverage pad one time (oven starts immediately). SENSOR ERROR appears on the display if the door is opened before steam is detected. Do not open door until steam is sensed and time is shown counting down on the display. Also, Sensor Reheat is for single servings of recommended foods, 4-16 oz. of any beverage. Use Cook Time option for other amounts.
