  • QuestionHi we are looking to replace our otr microwave GE model PVM2070SM1SS. Is this microwave comparable? I don’t see the melt or soften feature on this model. Also does this unit use the same mounting bracket as our current model? Thanks

    Asked by Singer2190.

    • Answer Hi Singer2190 - We certainly appreciate your loyalty! Yes, Model JVM7195SKSS is a great replacement choice for your current model PVM2070SM1SS. The Melt pad is located under the Popcorn pad near the top below the display. Melt allows for worry-free melting of butter, caramel, chocolate and marshmallows. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. Also, when replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. We're glad to have you in the family. Enjoy! Sue

  • QuestionWhy can I not get this microwave to pop a simple bag of microwave popcorn? It’s the same brand I’ve used for years, and in this microwave, it barely pops and is unevenly cooked. Is there something I am missing? I have never had an issue like this.

    Asked by Popcorn.

    • Answer Hello and thank you for reaching out about your microwave. We are sorry to hear about the issue you have been having with your popcorn. When using the Popcorn automatic feature, the package should be between 2 and 3.5 ounces. If the package is not in this range, please follow the instructions on the packaging. If you find that the brand of popcorn you use under pops or overcooks consistently, you can add or subtract 20-30 seconds to the automatic popping time. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - JB

  • QuestionThe sensor light for the charcoal filter in the hood came on. I removed the filter and washed it. I then reinstalled back into the microwave. How do I shut off the red light for the charcoal filter?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE® 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven JVM7195SKSS. We are happy to provide assistance with the filters. Press the Reset Filter pad on the control panel for 3 seconds to reset the filter light. This model is equipped with optional charcoal filter WB06X10807. If the model is not vented to the outside, the air will be recirculated through this disposable charcoal filter that helps remove smoke and odors. If this model is vented outdoors, the charcoal filter is not necessary. Note: The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned. It must be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to 12 months, depending on usage). This model also has reusable metal grease filters underneath. The vent filters should be cleaned once a month, or as needed. There is not a filter light for these grease filters. We encourage you to view pages 20, 23 and 24 of the Use and Care Manual at the following link for details: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40766-2.pdf - We’re glad to have you in the family. • QuestionHi I am replacing my current over the range. Whirlpool microwave that has a great feature, which was That the exhaust fan automatically turned on when the heat from the range below got to a certain temp, does the GE model# jvm7195skss do the same thing?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi - Thanks for considering our GE model # jvm7195skss! We have great news. All GE over-the-range microwaves have an automatic fan feature to help protect the electronic components, and also helps the cooking area get rid of excess heat. The built-in thermostat automatically turns the vent fan on if the unit is too hot (temperature around the control panel is above 150 degrees F) and will not turn off until the microwave is cool again. You will not be able to turn the vent fan off manually during this time. The fan will shut off when the control surface is less than 150 degrees F.
