Hi - Thanks for choosing GE Model AHP05LZ! We are happy to address your concern regarding the filter light. This feature automatically notifies you that the air filter must be cleaned. The indicator light will come on after 240 hours of operation. After cleaning and replacing the filter, press Filter on the control panel. The light will go off. We suggest viewing page 5 of the Use and Care Manual here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-5000461.pdf - We're glad to have you in the family. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Stay cool! Sue
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to what I read in the owner's manual, the filter red light will flash every 250 hours of use. So this would be about every 11 days if you don't use the economy setting and just let it run nonstop. Of course, more than 11 days if you use the economy setting or turn it off sometimes. It sounds completely normal that yours is already flashing after 3 weeks. All you need to do is push the "filter" button on the air conditioning unit to reset the light. There is a button that says "filter" right above the power button. Just press it once, and the red light will go out.
