It should take 3-4 hours to get cold upon installation
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey there, and thanks for contacting us. We understand your concern over the refrigerator not yet being cold, and we’re glad to advise. Newly installed refrigerators can take about a day to cool down to your desired temperature, so we hope your refrigerator is now nice and cold! But if after 24 hours it’s still not cooling well, and the controls have been set correctly, you may want to make sure there are no large containers blocking the internal airflow and the door gaskets are sealing properly. If it might be useful for you, we also have an article on our GE Appliances website titled ‘Refrigerator – Not Cooling Enough’ that has more suggestions on how to resolve a cooling issue. If you’d like to view the article, you can do so by looking up the title on our website and clicking the ‘Support’ tab; the article will be linked. Our service department is available at 1-800-432-2737, if you think a technician may need to examine the unit. We’re happy to help any time if you have any other concerns or questions – all the best! -Sarah@GEA
