  • QuestionI have just read that I can build in a MICROWAVE with trim if the microwave is a counter type. IF THIS IS TRUE, can model no JES2051SN4SS be built in with trim?

    Asked by missie.

    • Answer Yes... regardless of what GE says it this unit CAN be built in (as well as other countertop microwaves). The confusion over GE trim kits is because of GE's standard "No it can't" response but only because GE doesn't not offer a trim kit for this specific model (or their other "countertop" models. FACT: Our 10 year old GE microwave finally died. It was a countertop model installed above our Dacor wall oven and finished off with a beautiful trim kit from Microtrim.com . When the old microwave died we panicked thinking we would need to buy another trim kit. Luckily we discovered this model was the same exact size and a perfect replacement. We took out the old oven, slid in this one in and simply reinstalled our existing trim kit. NET: GE only says it not designed to be built-in because "they" don't make a trim kit for it. Just make sure whatever trim kit you buy there is adequate ventilation space inside the cabinet. The kits from microtrim have fresh air louvers as part of their design.

  • QuestionWhere was this unit manufactured? I prefer to buy Made in America products.

    Asked by Country.

    • Answer Hi Country- Thanks for considering Ge! Microwaves are manufactured globally and not in America. GE Appliances products are designed by GE Appliances engineers in the United States. Many of our appliances are manufactured in the U.S. and others are made globally to our specifications. The country of origin is shown on the Model/Serial rating plate as well as the packaging. Manufacturing facilities (plant sites, where appliances are made) can and do change from time to time because GE Appliances continues to seek the most efficient manufacturing processes available. We make products all over the world for a Global marketplace. Therefore, your best source for manufacturing location is the packaging/product itself. The GE appliances listed in our website at the following link are designed, engineered and manufactured by thousands of U.S. employees- MADE IN AMERICA: http://www.geappliances.com/ge/usa/ - Keep in touch! • QuestionI need to replace a 12 year old PEB2060SM1SS. Will I need to replace the mounting kit or will the old mounting kit fit this new model?

    Asked by DillyDilly.

    • Answer Hi DillyDilly - Thanks for reaching out to us! We are sorry to hear your GE microwave model PEB2060SM1SS is no longer working and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Model # JES2051SNSS is intended for countertop use. This model is not compatible with a trim kit. Also, trim kits are not interchangeable. • QuestionDoes this microwave oven have a proposition65 warning on the unit or box that it causes cancer and birth defects?

    Asked by Jsd.

    • Answer Hi Jsd - Thanks for considering GE Model JES2051SNSS! We are happy to address your concern. We comply with federal and state chemical labeling laws. One such law is California Proposition 65, enacted by California in 1986 (Prop 65). This state law requires companies to provide a warning for thousands of consumer products, foods, prescription drugs, alcoholic beverages, enclosed parking facilities, amusement parks, furniture, and other everyday items. For more than a decade, we have complied with the Prop 65 requirements by providing a warning in the owner's manual. California recently updated its Prop 65 regulations to require, for products produced on or after August 30, 2018, new on-product warning labels (instead of owner's manual warnings). GE Appliances and other appliance manufacturers will use on-product warning labels to comply with this state law. Starting in early August 2018, we began adding new labels to our products to comply with the new Prop 65 requirements. The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean the product is unsafe or poses a health risk. Over 800 chemicals are on this list, including wood dust, nickel (found in stainless steel), nicotine, and alcohol. Additionally, even inaccessible parts can cause the warning.
