A:AnswerThe shelf directly on top won’t hurt the fridge. It’s what you decide to put on the shelf. I wouldn’t have a combined weight heavier than 25-30lbs+ on the shelf. Although it’s insulated sheet metal, you potentially could cause an issue with too much weight. But I wouldn’t worry too much, as I have a garage fridge that I stack plenty of items on.
A:AnswerHi - The refrigerator has smooth doors with a glossy finish (reflective). The textured case also has a glossy finish. Thanks for viewing GE. Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerHi Ron - Per the Quick Specs and Installation Guide, allow 1" air clearance on each side and top and 2" air clearance in the back. Allow a 2" (50mm) back clearance for ease of installation, proper air circulation and plumbing (with optional icemaker) and electrical connections. A:AnswerHi Ron - Many refrigerators have forced air condensers, including GTS21FGKWW. Air is "forced" across the condenser coils by a condenser fan to aid in removal of the heat being pulled from the refrigerator. Forced air condensers are located under the refrigerator with a fan sitting to the side pulling cool air in from the right front of the refrigerator and exhausting the warm air out to the left front. Thanks for viewing GE! Sue
