“Sue....if the air is going in the right bottom and out the left bottom why cant you put the refrigerator right up against the back wall leaving virtually no gap ??”

Hi Ron - Per the Quick Specs and Installation Guide, allow 1" air clearance on each side and top and 2" air clearance in the back. Allow a 2" (50mm) back clearance for ease of installation, proper air circulation and plumbing (with optional icemaker) and electrical connections.
