The refrigerator can be used in a garage, however we do not recommend installing in an area where temperatures will go below 60°F or above 110 °F. Also, we do not rate the sound level of our refrigerators, which means we are unable to provide a decibel level while they are running. Our top- freezer refrigerators are manufactured with as quiet and operation as possible. The type of installation (built-in or freestanding), floor type (wood, tile) and room acoustics can all affect the normal operating sounds that you may hear. We’d love to have you in the family. QuestionCould I use the freezer as a fridge? Is there any way to set the freezer temperature to 40°F?

- Answer Hello and thank you for the excellent question. We do not recommend installing a refrigerator where the temperature will exceed 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything warmer could cause the unit to malfunction. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - JB

QuestionI want to put one of these in my garage in Phoenix as an extra ice machine, freezer and refrigerator. since the garage is 110+, 74 degree inside of the house, are extra parts needed to have it run efficiently in the garage. years ago something was needed.

- Answer Hi - Thanks for considering GE! We do not recommend installation in garages, porches, or unheated rooms where the temperature is likely to exceed 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Above 110 degrees Fahrenheit, the oil could overheat and break down, thus damaging the compressor or sealed system. After-market garage kits should not be used. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

- Answer Sorry, I don't think they adjust but they are good heights for Milk, juice, soda, etc. and top most is for shorter items. I hope this helps.

We strongly recommend not installing this refrigerator where the temperature will go below 55 degrees Fahrenheit or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, as these will significantly impact the performance of the appliance.
