Hi there, thank you for the excellent questions, and we would be happy to answer them for you. The ice bin is accessible from inside the freezer. It pulls out like a "drawer" with an opening on the top where you can easily grab ice. The butter shelf in the top of the door in the fridge also comes with a lifting plastic cover, so there is no need to order that part separately.
