“Too am questioning the number and why I can’t just push it to start it seems to take all day to start a pad of dishes. Is there anyway to shorten the time so it begins right away?”

I did everything you suggested before writing in. I had to call a GE technician out who replaced the board in the control panel $279. I guess I got a lemon. Hope it doesn't happen again.

Hi Nana - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE® Dishwasher Model GDT655SMJES. We are happy to provide assistance. It sounds as though your dishwasher is programmed for Delay Start. By pressing the Delay Hours pad on the control panel, this model can be programmed to start in 1-12 hours. Press the Delay Hours pad repeatedly until the hours of delay indicator goes off.
