This is certainly not a common issue and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. This dishwasher is equipped with black pearl, nylon coated racks for durability. It is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan , life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance or part, even an approximate age.
