Thank you for reaching out to us! This hood uses incandescent lighting which produces heat when powered. This heat can be absorbed by the metal/stainless portion of the hood; however, the heat will depend on how long the light is left on. Additionally, when cooking on the range below, the heat rising from cooking can also affect the temperature. We hope this helps and if you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us!
