I just bought a GPT225 GE Portable Dishwasher. You can't see the controls due to location. How do I know when the wash cycle is done? no movement ALL dishes WET when opened. Even waited an extra 1/2 hour. null

You have to just peer through the crack between the door and the top - if there is a number it is not done.  A single light means it is done.  It is not a very user friendly design.

The location of the controls & lights on the TOP EDGE of the door is my least favorite feature on this dishwasher.
I note the minutes (48 in my case) when I push the START button and set a timer on my echo. Then as soon as the timer goes off I open the door so the dishes can air dry. I turn off the faucet too. 
The dishes won't dry with the door closed.
Another thing I hate is the layout of the racks & slverware holder. My silverware was to "fat" to fit through any of the holes on the lids of the holder so I took the lids off.  I still haven't figured out where to put my Corelle cereal bowls, I'm convinced that this dishwasher was designed by engineers who had never actually used one.
