A:AnswerHi TBM - We are sorry to hear your 2 year old dishwasher suddenly stopped working. This is frustrating, we know. Make sure the dishwasher door is closed tightly and is latched correctly. Open the door and then close it again firmly. The dishwasher may be installed with a power cord that has come loose. Not all dishwashers have a power cord; however, if your dishwasher has a cord, the outlet will be in an adjacent cabinet. If it is plugged into a GFI/GFCI outlet that has a reset button, press Reset on the outlet to restore power. Also, if your dishwasher is controlled by a wall switch, make sure the power is turned on. Wall switches are required in some areas, so check around the kitchen counter or in the cabinet under the sink for a switch you do not normally use. A:AnswerI did everything you suggested before writing in. I had to call a GE technician out who replaced the board in the control panel $279. I guess I got a lemon. Hope it doesn't happen again.

I am not sure what they believe as "average use" but for a family with three (3) adults and one child, we use the dishwasher about 3-4 times per week. We have only had this dishwasher for a few months but I have not noticed any unusual increase in our electricity usage. I hope this answer gives you some assistance! Make sure the water entering the dishwasher is at least 120F and add a rinse agent such as Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid to the rinse agent dispenser. Leave door closed after the Clean light appears to allow the fan to run. Note: If you open the door, this fan extension will be cancelled.
