A:AnswerHello K,
Excellent question. This model is our normal Stainless Steel model. It is not fingerprint resistant. Model GDP645SYNFS is an example of our fingerprint resistant model. Hope this is helpful. Best wishes -Mike

A:AnswerHi TBM - We are sorry to hear your 2 year old dishwasher suddenly stopped working. This is frustrating, we know. Make sure the dishwasher door is closed tightly and is latched correctly. Open the door and then close it again firmly. The dishwasher may be installed with a power cord that has come loose. Not all dishwashers have a power cord; however, if your dishwasher has a cord, the outlet will be in an adjacent cabinet. If it is plugged into a GFI/GFCI outlet that has a reset button, press Reset on the outlet to restore power. Also, if your dishwasher is controlled by a wall switch, make sure the power is turned on. Wall switches are required in some areas, so check around the kitchen counter or in the cabinet under the sink for a switch you do not normally use. Take a look at the following links- DISHWASHER WILL NOT RUN OR HAS NO POWER: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17396 - DISHWASHER WILL NOT RUN, HAS LIGHTS OR SOUND: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17397 - We hope these tips are helpful. A:AnswerI did everything you suggested before writing in. I had to call a GE technician out who replaced the board in the control panel $279. I guess I got a lemon. Hope it doesn't happen again.
A:AnswerHi Laura - We certainly appreciate your loyalty! We are sorry to hear the racks have been replaced multiple times in your current dishwasher. This is certainly not a common issue and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. This dishwasher is equipped with black pearl, nylon coated racks for durability. It is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan , life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance or part, even an approximate age. There are many variables involved, like: frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance (ex. high humidity; near the ocean; etc.), care, and maintenance. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A:AnswerHello Scotty. Thank you for your question. We are glad to assist. We recommend using one detergent tablet for one level (upper or lower) wash. I hope this helps. Olga
A:AnswerHello girlfromauntie - We are so sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced. For installation of this dishwasher, we recommend 3/8” copper tubing or a flexible braided hose. A:AnswerHi Beachgirl5525 - Side or Top Mount Install Brackets are included. Install mounting brackets on sides if the countertop is granite or similar material that will
not accept wood screws. See page 9 of the Installation Guide at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-31560-1.pdf - Thanks for choosing GE! Sue
A:AnswerThe EnergyGuide states 270 kilowatt hours per year (average) for a cost of $32 annual use. I am not sure what they believe as "average use" but for a family with three (3) adults and one child, we use the dishwasher about 3-4 times per week. We have only had this dishwasher for a few months but I have not noticed any unusual increase in our electricity usage. I hope this answer gives you some assistance! Also, the EnergyGuide can be viewed on the Best Buy website page for this dishwasher.
A:AnswerHi LindaL - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE. We are happy to help. For best results, choose Heated Dry and the Wash Temp Boost option to raise the water temperature to improve dry performance. Make sure the water entering the dishwasher is at least 120F and add a rinse agent such as Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid to the rinse agent dispenser. Leave door closed after the Clean light appears to allow the fan to run. Note: If you open the door, this fan extension will be cancelled. See pages 10 and 23 of the Owner's Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55119-2.pdf - Also view the following- Dishwasher Poor Drying: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17451 - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com - Sue
A:AnswerHi Colorado - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the dishwasher racks. We are sorry to this and know you must be frustrated. Shallow items such as cups and small glasses should be loaded along the sides or less deeps areas of the upper rack. Tall, deep glasses, should be loaded in deeper areas of the upper rack, and placed so that they rest firmly against the tines. We encourage you to view pages 14-19 of the Owner's Manual for loading tips/illustrations: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55119-2.pdf - DISHWASHER - LOADING TIPS: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=38921 - Replacing the upper rack with a rack from a different model will not change the load. We hope the loading illustrations in the manual are helpful. Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerMine had interior damage not allowing the top tray to go all the way to the back so the door would not shut unless you pushed hard to close. Check the insides for damage
