It clicks onto a provided adapter that replaces the aerator in the kitchen faucet and drains into the kitchen sink. The hoses and power cord retract into the cabinet for storage. The adapter will work with a Pure water filter but not a Brita. We had to replace ours.

Before operating the dishwahser for the first time, the faucet adpater must be attached to the faucet. This is supplied with the dishwasher. The unicouple is then connected to the faucet. The Unicouple’s small hose carries water from the faucet to the dishwasher. Its large hose carries drain water to the sink. Be sure Unicouple is pointing toward the sink bowl drain opening and the sink drain is open for water that will drain from your dishwasher. If your dishwasher drains into a disposer, operate the disposer until it is completely empty before starting the dishwasher. The Use and Care manual will provided the complete details and diagram for connecting the Unicouple on page 7. This can be viewed or downloaded off the GE Appliance website.
