Yes, that is a possibility. We encourage you to remove the filter and install the bypass plug. If the water flow improves with the bypass plug installed, replace the filter. if you did not receive a bypass plug with your refrigerator, please call 1-800-432-2737 to obtain one free of charge. If the water flow does not improve with the bypass plug installed, you need service. We recommend calling Bodewell directly at 1-833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET to have your refrigerator evaluated and repaired as needed.
