• The auger is metal. The ice bin is plastic. Be aware there are 2 ice makers. The fridge comes standard with the ice maker in the door. Then there is an optional ice maker for inside the freezer. The one in the door doesn't hold much. So if you have several people in your family or like to entertain..you should buy the second ice maker
