“It's hard to get a very precise measurement but my existing cutout appears to be just 1/8 smaller (28-1/2 x 19-1/2"). Will this cooktop fit, especially since my old cooktop is also a GE (JP345)? Will it be possible to squeeze this cooktop in?”

The measurement is standard fit perfect, But the top glass scratche very easily

After checking the information for your old model, our system actually indicates the cutout dimensions for that model would be the same as for the new model you’re interested in. If that is the case, there should be no issue with the new cooktop fitting your space. If a slight adjustment did need to be made, we have a Fit Guarantee for wall ovens that may help you cover some adjustment costs (as long as you meet all the criteria, have pictures of your set up before and after, model and serial numbers for both units, a dated statement from the contractor, etc.).
