• Hi - Thank you for your interest in a new GE cooktop. Our cooktops are considered built-in since they are installed in an opening within your countertop. The model you posted this question on is our 30" gas cooktop model JGP3030DLBB. The JP3030DJBB is our 30" electric cooktop model. We hope this helps. Vikki@GEA
