QuestionI bought a house and the old owner put a new stove top in JGP3030SL1SS, the propane company that switched service out said the TIPS need to be switched. i have the tips and the install manual but it does not say which size tip goes to which burner.

- Answer Hi - Congratulations on your new home! We recommend a qualified installer or servicer convert the gas range to the proper gas supply needed. The conversion must be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. The conversion instructions are located in the wiring diagram (mini-manual) or included with the LP Conversion Kit attached to the appliance near the pressure regulator. Keep in touch! Sue

QuestionWhat is the outside dimension of the flange that sits atop of the counter ? My openning is right at/ beyond cut out dim, unless there is a surround to sit the cook top onto, to prevent messes/ spills from escaping counter top.

QuestionThe height of the stovetop in your info states 4 3/4 inches. Is that the total height (including the top edge) or the depth from the countertop surface?

- Answer from the measurement diagram you can see it's from the base (below counter) to the surface. Fully installed including the knobs and grates it's about 4" above the surface in total, and about 2.5-3" below.

QuestionWhat is the black material? I assume it is applied over the stainless steel. If the black is scratched, will the scratch mark read black or silver? Is the black surface smooth or rough?

- Answer The black surface has a matte finish, like a spray powder coat. It has not yet scratched, in spite of heavy pots and pans, so i suspect it is a durable baked-on finish. I expect it will have the durability of a non-stick pan finish. At least it feels like that. I am not going to try to scratch the finish to find out.

QuestionAre the knobs made of plastic or are they made of metal? I have a GE cooktop and the knobs have all broken. Replacement cost is prohibitive and I recommend that anyone buying a cooktop buy one with metal knobs.
