We designed the refrigerator this way so that we could maximize and utilize the shelving and storage space on the inside.

- Answer The door is able to open either way. I believe mine was “hinged” on right side. Yes, I store gallon size milk in door. I haven’t put ice trays in; I have been using a countertop ice maker.
