That is the reason we had to return a standard french door frig designed for a 36" opening. It was installed alongside a wall (with a window/sill) created by our "professional???" kitchen re-designer She only left a couple inches to the nearby window sill, so the adjacent door on the standard width french door frig we bought would not open to allow drawers to pull out. This narrower model worked for us, but just barely, and we had to put a soft "bumper" on that window sill where the door handle would bang into it every time that door opened otherwise. I would estimate you need 4+" clearance beyond the edge of this frig to your wall to ensure you can also open the adjacent door wide enough to remove the drawers on that side. Anything less than that, and you might be able to pull out a drawer enough to access items, but not enough to remove it for cleaning. Alternatively, because we could not rebuild our kitchen again, we were prepared to have to pull out the entire frig and angle it in order to fully remove a drawer for cleaning. Fortunately, it was just narrow enough for us that we don't have to do that.
