• At least with my unit, it had two easy pop out screens. Check your manual and see, but I think you can use it a while before cleaning.

• Hi, Thank you for asking about this great portable air conditioner! This unit does have a washable filter, but there is no indicator to let you know it needs to be cleaned. It is recommended that the filter be cleaned every two weeks. We hope this helps! Mike@GEA
