- Answer Hello Ed, This is Joyce from GE Appliances. I will be happy to help! We recommend hooking the water line up to the refrigerator so you can take full advantage of all of the features. You can try pouring about 4 oz. of water in the icemaker mold and waiting about 2 hours. I hope this helps! Have a great day!

They aren't as completely flush to your cabinets as a built-in model would be, but our counter-depth models help provide a built-in appearance at a lower cost than a built-in model. The overall depth of this unit is 29 1/2".

- Answer Yes, this refrigerator can be used without a filter by using the filter bypass plug. You must use the filter bypass plug when a filter cartridge is not available. The dispenser and the icemaker will not operate without the filter or filter bypass plug. To learn more, check out the Filter Bypass Plug section on page 8 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website.
