A:AnswerHi Susan - Yes, The door alarm feature helps ensure food preservation is maximized by signaling if the fresh food door(s) or freezer drawer has been left ajar. When the fresh food door(s) has been left open longer than 2 minutes, a beeping signal will sound. Note: Alarm won't sound if door is open between 1/2" to 3". Thanks for your interest! Sue
A:AnswerHi Gattie - The sides of the refrigerator are Dorian gray which is a dark gray. This is true for all GE French-Door Refrigerators in stainless steel. Thanks for your interest! Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com - Sue
A:AnswerHi there,
We are finding that this unit has an automatic defrost system called Frost Guard. To learn more about it, please click here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16699 - We are finding that the drawers do have tracks on which to slide on. Should you want to remove the drawers, take a look at pg. 13 of your Owner's Manual for steps on how to do so. You can view that document here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60805-3.PDF - We hope that this helped! Thank you so much for your question. -Michael
A:AnswerHi - Yes, the full-width deli drawer (under vegetable/fruit drawers) allows party trays and larger items to fit easily and remain at the ideal temperature. This model has the largest capacity in its class* (*Class is defined as French Door Refrigerator model between 951-2,500 price point (MSRP); claim based on manufacturers' stated capacity; leading brands are GE Appliances, Samsung, LG and Whirlpool.) Thanks for viewing GE! Keep in touch - Sue
A:AnswerHi waytrans - We are happy to provide assistance. When the bin fills to the level of the feeler arm, the icemaker will stop producing ice. Be sure nothing interferes with the sweep of the feeler arm. Piled up cubes in the storage bin cause the icemaker to shut off. Level cubes by hand, if necessary. See pages 16 and 39 of the Owner's Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60805-3.PDF - Also, the icemaker must be 15 degrees to produce ice. Normal freezer temperature is around zero degrees F. Ice production can be further increased by decreasing the freezer temperature to -2F. Very little food, or no food, in the refrigerator or freezer sections may slow down the production of ice. More food in the refrigerator allows temperatures to remain more stable. We suggest to view the following troubleshooting link to more tips- REFRIGERATOR - SLOW ICE PRODUCTION: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17763 - We hope these tips are helpful. A:AnswerHi CMM19014 - Thanks for reaching out to us. We are happy to help. Lift the door bin straight up; then pull out. If the bin fits tightly or not installed quite right, you may need to give it a little "bump" with the palm of your hand to release it. To replace, insert the bin above the notches on the door liner and then slide the bin down into place. See page 12 of the Use and Care Manual at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60805-2.PDF - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com - Sue
A:AnswerHi 0923- Should you experience a power outage or power failure, it is not necessary to unplug the refrigerator. When power is restored and the unit automatically starts, the sudden start will not harm the refrigerator. Electronic models will return to your settings. If there was a short power outage the compressor overload will cycle on and off (not the compressor) until the refrigerant system equalizes at which point the compressor will start and refrigeration will resume. Thanks for choosing GE! Sue

A:AnswerHi Jan - Thanks for considering GE! Refrigerators should not be used in unheated locations, such as garages, porches, or unheated rooms where the temperature is likely to fall below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The refrigerator may not work properly, and there is a possibility that some harm could come to the compressor or sealed system by operating the refrigerator at temperature extremes. Below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the oil could become thick and not circulate properly. Above 110 degrees Fahrenheit, the oil could overheat and break down. See REFRIGERATOR INSTALLATION LOCATION AND TEMPERATURE: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16910 - Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerHi Maryann - The freezer temperature is preset at the factory for 0F. The fresh food temperature is preset at the factory for 37F. These are recommended temperature settings. See page 7 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60805-1.PDF - Thanks for choosing GE. Enjoy! Sue
A:AnswerYes, and it is so much better than the ice and water through the door, which takes up too much refrigerator space. I would recommend the internal water dispenser and the ice is just below in the freezer section, easy to get.
