“I bought this last summer and have it in an attic space. Unfortunately it has to sit on a landing on the stairs half way up to the attic where stairs turn and there is a window. For that reason i bought a larger BTU unit, does this make sense?”

Hello, thank you for your question. We recommend you match your air conditioner to the square footage of the space it is installed in so that it will be able to properly cool the area. If the area of the stairwell and attic match the covered square footage of this air conditioner, then it will sufficiently cool the area. We hope this helps!
