Did you use the included screw? That seemed to hold it in place for us.

We know this must have caused concern and are happy to advise. When installing the unit, the exhaust hose should be extended from the air conditioner to reach the window kit, and then the exhaust hose adapter can be inserted into the opening in the window kit. It should be slid into the locking position to ensure stability. The small screw can then be used to attach the exhaust hose assembly to the window sealing plate assembly. The adapter is designed to be a good fit for the window kit opening, so you may want to double check that the adapter is being used and not just the exhaust hose itself.
