  • QuestionIs there anyway to turn up grill heat? The flames are low and doesn't heat up the grill well. Thanks

    Asked by Bunny.

    • Answer Hi Bunny - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE. We are sorry to hear the griddle is not heating well and glad to help. It is normal for the center/griddle burner to have a low flame. However, if the range was converted from Natural Gas to LP (Liquid Propane), the rate on the center burner is only 8,000 Btu/hr. If flames seems excessively low, check for correct orifice spud ‘86L’. If other burner flames also seem low, there may be a problem with supply pressure. If long cook time on griddle, check the following: 1. The griddle should not be placed on top of center grate; center grate is to be removed when using griddle. 2. It may help to preheat the griddle on High for 2-5 minutes, depending on the food. If these tips do not help, there’s a slight chance the burner valve may be restricting flow. A qualified GE service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis. To schedule service online, visit us at GEAppliances.com or call 1.800.GE.CARES (800.432.2737). Please have your serial number and your model number available when calling for service. We love having you in the family and hope this is helpful. • QuestionCan it be converted to propane

    Asked by Timbuford.

    • Answer Hi Timbuford - Thanks for considering GE! We have great news. All of our gas cooking appliances come ready to be connected to natural gas and also come with an LP conversion kit to connect to LP (Liquid Propane). The conversion instructions are located in the wiring diagram (mini-manual) and are included with the LP kit attached to the appliance near the pressure regulator. We recommend a qualified installer or servicer convert the gas range to the proper gas supply needed. The conversion must be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. We'd love to have you in the family! • QuestionCan I buy drip pans for this range? And where please?

    Asked by LindaLew.

    • Answer Hello LindaLew - Thank you for the excellent question. We are always happy to talk appliances. Cooktops with sealed burners do not use drip pans. The burner caps will serve the same purpose in protecting the flame from debris and soil. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - John

  • QuestionShould the griddle be seasoned first and how do you do that? I've used it twice so far without seasoning and it feels sticky even though I've cleaned it thoroughly. What should I be doing differently?

    Asked by Criss.

    • Answer You shouldn't season anything with a nonstick coating, and the griddle that comes with GE gas ranges has a nonstick coating. I don't know why yours would feel sticky, unless you have oil cooked onto it. Just cook with a little oil or butter like you would with any nonstick pan and you should be fine.

  • QuestionIs the broiler inside the oven??? Or in the bottom drawer

    Asked by Greggie.

    • Answer Hi Greggie - The broiler is located in the oven. The lower drawer is for storage of cookware. The Broil Hi-Lo pad gives you the capability of reducing the oven temperature during the broil function. It is featured on most electronic model ovens. Hi Broil functions at 550 degrees Fahrenheit. It gives a quicker broiling to sear in natural food juices. Recommended for thinner cuts of meat and/or foods you prefer less done on the interior. Lo Broil functions at 450 degrees Fahrenheit. It gives a slower broiling to ensure doneness without drying out the food. Recommended for thicker cuts of meat and/or foods you prefer cooked all the way through. On gas models, the gas flame height is the same for Hi and Lo Broil. The flame will cycle off more often when set to Lo Broil. Pair with matching GE® 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven JVM6175SKSS. Two-speed, 300-CFM venting system removes smoke, steam and odors. Thanks for considering GE! Sue
