Q: QuestionWhere is the power cord located on the oven ?? My nearest outlet is on the right and I'm not sure if 4 feet is long enough. What happens if I don't have an outlet closer than 4 feet ? Can a longer cord be attached to the oven ?
Asked by CrazyCatLady.
- A:Answer Hi CrazyCatLady - The 4' ft. power cord for most single oven free-standing gas ranges is mounted to the product on the left or right side of the rear panel, generally near the mid-section. The plug for the cord will reach regardless to the recommended install space defined for each product in the installation instructions. View Installation Instructions at this link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-10998-3.pdf - We cannot recommend longer cord or extension cord. Q: QuestionDoes the center griddle scratch easily
Asked by Lilly.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 5.0 Cu. Ft. Freestanding Gas Range - Stainless Steel
- A:Answer Yes, the coating scratches very easily! I am very careful and ONLY use wood, silicone or plastic utensils and the surface after one year is to the point where it is extremely scratched up . Frankly, the appearance is a bit embarrassing to have when guests come over & After 1 year I am considering replacing it. I only use a cloth or sponge to clean it after it’s cooled. My thoughts are that the surface is all scratched up from the salt crystals used when I am cooking, along with the hard platstic spatula’s I’ve had for years. I have switched ti only using silicone utensils, but the damage is done. It is a shame as I use the grill several times a week. I would not recommend GE stoves based on my experience. In addition to the scratched up griddle the black cast stovetop grates have taken on a white hue from the pots I use. Buyer beware…

Q: QuestionHello, does the griddle that comes with this contain Teflon or any other PTFE or PFOA material that would be dangerous to birds? If so is there a different option to order another kind separately? Thank you for your help!
Asked by Reesee.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 5.0 Cu. Ft. Freestanding Gas Range - Stainless Steel
- A:Answer Cheap teflon that peels off almost immediately after the first couple of uses or scratches- in my case while cleaning the stove, one burner touched the edge of the griddle- that is all it took to scotch up the teflon and show the silver underneath. Flimsy.
