A:AnswerHi CrazyCatLady - The 4' ft. power cord for most single oven free-standing gas ranges is mounted to the product on the left or right side of the rear panel, generally near the mid-section. The plug for the cord will reach regardless to the recommended install space defined for each product in the installation instructions. View Installation Instructions at this link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-10998-3.pdf - We cannot recommend longer cord or extension cord. A:AnswerHi Jack - No, this range has an Oven Light ON/OFF switch on the control panel for manually operating the oven light. You will be able to turn on the oven light and look through the window at the food without having to open the door. Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerYes, the coating scratches very easily! I am very careful and ONLY use wood, silicone or plastic utensils and the surface after one year is to the point where it is extremely scratched up . Frankly, the appearance is a bit embarrassing to have when guests come over & After 1 year I am considering replacing it. I only use a cloth or sponge to clean it after it’s cooled. My thoughts are that the surface is all scratched up from the salt crystals used when I am cooking, along with the hard platstic spatula’s I’ve had for years. I have switched ti only using silicone utensils, but the damage is done. It is a shame as I use the grill several times a week. I would not recommend GE stoves based on my experience. In addition to the scratched up griddle the black cast stovetop grates have taken on a white hue from the pots I use. Buyer beware…
A:AnswerHi laurabeth- Thanks for choosing GE! We are sorry to hear of the trouble with installation. If the shield mentioned in the Installation Instructions was removed, we recommend having a gas professional complete the installation. See page 32: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-85220-2.pdf - Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerCheap teflon that peels off almost immediately after the first couple of uses or scratches- in my case while cleaning the stove, one burner touched the edge of the griddle- that is all it took to scotch up the teflon and show the silver underneath. Flimsy.
