“Should the griddle be seasoned first and how do you do that? I've used it twice so far without seasoning and it feels sticky even though I've cleaned it thoroughly. What should I be doing differently?”

You shouldn't season anything with a nonstick coating, and the griddle that comes with GE gas ranges has a nonstick coating. I don't know why yours would feel sticky, unless you have oil cooked onto it. Just cook with a little oil or butter like you would with any nonstick pan and you should be fine.

If necessary, scrub with a non-abrasive plastic pad. Do not clean the griddle in the self-clean cycle or in the dishwasher.
