Hi SwannKat- Thanks for choosing GE! We are sorry to hear of this experience. A circuit breaker may trip or a fuse may blow for any number of reasons. First determine if the appliance on a properly sized breaker or fuse. Electrical Requirements - 120-volt, 60 Hertz, properly grounded dedicated circuit protected by a 15-amp or 20-amp circuit breaker or time delay fuse. The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a three-prong (grounding) plug which plugs into a standard three-prong grounding wall receptacle to minimize the possibility of electric shock hazard from this appliance. Refer to the Installation Instructions for the range: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-10998-3.pdf - If the unit is not on the correct sized breaker/fuses, consult the installer or an electrician.
