• Hi Jazz - The range does not have a built-in ventilation system. The vent at the rear of the cooktop is where the oven vents. Most range or cooktop models do not require a ventilation system; however, we recommend checking the local residential building codes in your area to see if one is required. • No, you still need a hood. I was told by the home depot installer that ventilation is for the oven.
