“How long does it take to burn off the chemical smell? The manual says 30-60 minutes, but I've had this oven for about a week and after several hours of use at high temp per day, it still smells like chemicals.”

Hi Katy- Thanks for choosing GE! The small amount of smoke and odor that is emitted from a new range (both gas and electric) on its initial use is normal. This is usually caused by the tape used in the oven for shipping purposes or residue of non toxic materials used in manufacturing of the oven insulation. We suggest to run a self-clean cycle and use a ventilation fan or open a window to ventilate the room.
