“Some of the photos show a lip on either edge of the range where it connects with the counters. Is that standard on both sides? Can it be removed or is it built in?”

There is a rim around the glass top that becomes a built in lip on both sides - about 1/8 inch or less

No, the pieces to go between it and the counter are sold separately.

You have to buy a trim kit if you have countertops other than stone.

It’s built in but you can still slide it in the space I had no issues sliding it in the space I have for it
