Hi BakerToo - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE gas range. We are happy to provide assistance. To use the Bake mode, press the Bake pad, use the + and - pads to adjust the temperature, then press Start. Check the oven Glo-Bar Igniter. Turn the oven to the ON position, open the oven door, and look for a red glow. For reference, see page 13 of the Owner's Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-2000316-1.pdf - On new gas range installations, make sure the range’s main gas regulator on the range is set in the ON position. They are all shipped with the regulator in the ON position but, if jarred or bumped during installation, it can spring back to the OFF position. Burners will still work with the valve off, but the oven will not. The oven gas shut-off is located on the gas regulator near the gas line attachment to your range. See GAS RANGE - OVEN DOES NOT HEAT, BUT THE BURNERS HEAT: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=38007 - You can also view the Installation Guide: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-11060-1.pdf - If you need further assistance, we encourage you to contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance or conveniently schedule an appointment online at GEAppliances.com/service - Keep in touch. We are always eager to help! Sue
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First you press the "Bake" (or Broil, if you're going to broil something) - the screen will default to 350 degrees (baking) or Hi (for broil). Then you press the "Start" button and the oven will preheat (screen will show "Pre") until it reaches 350 degrees (or whatever temperature you have chosen.
